Privacy Policy

This is the privacy policy for DAM Cowboy (www.damcowboy.com), an independent publication and toolkit owned and operated by Stacks LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company. We try to write this the way we write everything else: plain English, no boilerplate.

What we collect

If you email us or run a tool

DAM Cowboy does not run an email newsletter and has no subscribe form. We publish everything on the site instead, so there is nothing to sign up for. We only receive your email address if you send it to us: through the contact form, the DAM Diagnostic, or a directory pre-listing. We use it to reply to you and for nothing else.

If you submit a firm or consultant pre-listing

Your name, work email, website URL, LinkedIn URL, headquarters location, the service lanes you ranked, and any free-text notes. This is kept private, not shown to the public, and used only to contact you when the relevant directory opens for claims.

When you visit the site

Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp), kept for operational debugging only. Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization enabled, used to understand which pages get read. We do not run third-party advertising pixels, session-replay tools, fingerprinting libraries, or any tracking that follows you across sites.

Who processes this data

We use a small set of well-known processors. We list them so you can audit:

• Supabase (Postgres + Auth) for the database and any future auth flows. US-based.
• Resend for transactional email (contact form receipts, DAM Diagnostic results). US-based.
• Railway for hosting the web application. US-based.
• Google Workspace for our own mailboxes (the accounts you might email). US-based.
• Google Analytics 4 for site analytics. IP-anonymized.
• Squarespace as domain registrar and DNS.

How we use your email

Only to reply to you. We run no mailing list and send no marketing email, so the only messages you get from us are answers to something you sent: a contact form reply, your DAM Diagnostic results, or a response about a directory listing you asked for.

We do not sell, rent, or syndicate email addresses. We do not give your email to vendors listed on the site. We do not transfer it to other companies, including Stacks LLC, for marketing purposes.

How to opt out

There is no marketing list to leave, because we do not run one. If you have emailed us or used a tool and want your data gone, email casey@damcowboy.com and ask. We will delete it, and you can request a copy of anything we hold on you at the same time.

Cookies

We use the smallest practical set:

• A session cookie set by Google Analytics for visit measurement.
• An admin cookie set for the site operator on the/admin section. You will never see this unless you are us.

Your rights under GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws

If you are in the EU, UK, California, or any jurisdiction with similar data rights laws, you have the right to: see what data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, request it in machine-readable form, and object to its processing. Emailcasey@damcowboy.com with the request. We will respond within 30 days.

Children

DAM Cowboy is for working professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have, we delete it.

Changes

When this policy changes materially, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, if the change affects you, mention it in The Roundup. We will not change this policy retroactively for data already collected without your consent.
