What AI can (and cannot) do for your DAM
DAM Cowboy · W32 · August 2026
Acquia maps three categories of AI in the DAM world: assistive (auto-tagging, transcription), augmentative (search expansion, similarity), and generative (content creation). The piece is correct that all three categories depend on clean foundational data. Auto-tagging a messy library produces messy tags at scale. The best use of AI in DAM is not to fix broken workflows; it is to accelerate workflows that already work. If your taxonomy is inconsistent, AI will amplify the inconsistency.
