What AI can (and can't) do for your DAM
DAM Cowboy · W31 · July 2026
Acquia breaks AI in DAM into three types: auto-tagging, semantic search, and content generation. The limits are more interesting than the features. Auto-tagging produces tags that sound plausible but drift from your controlled vocabulary. Semantic search finds conceptually similar assets but can't distinguish between a product shot and a lifestyle image if the training data treats them the same. AI works when the foundation is clean and fails when it inherits your metadata debt.
